The Perils of Remakes

I saw G.I. Joe last night.  I knew going in that it wouldn’t be a good movie, but I expected a Michael Bay, Transformers (the first one) level, where I could be thoroughly entertained by explosions, and crazy technology that could probably never exist, etc.  However, that is not what I got.  Instead, I received a crapfest of bad CGI, bad acting (although Scarlett made things bearable, at least when she was running on the treadmill), bad plot-line, bad CGI, and bad acting.  And I don’t have high hopes for the second one, where Cobra Commander somehow breaks out of a level of security beyond supermax, with the aid of a zombie Storm Shadow.
